Aspen Writers Conference 1987

The Aspen Writers' Conference of 1987 occurred over a two week period in August. The pictures below were taken during the picnic on last day. Many other famous writers also attended the conference, most notably Leo Uris, author of Exodus and many other novels. Also attending were poets Lisel Mueller, Vicki Hearns, and novelist Lynne Sharon Schwartz. Many of the established writers taught classes. I was in Janet Lewis' writing class.
